1.Getting Started #

Thank you for using this theme. If this instruction doesn’t cover your queries feel free to contact us and we will do what we can. We have tried our best to keep it as simple as possible. If you think it can be made even simpler let us know we will be glad to change it.

 

Important notices:

The demo imports does not include images. However, all images on our demo webiste (http://business-wp.themes4wp.com/) are licensed under CC0 (Free for commercial use). You can download them and use it without any restrictions

Business WP trial is only for test purposes. 14 days after activation stops working. You can upgrade to premium version or switch the teme (without losing your data)

1.1.How to Install Theme #

Upload via WordPress Admin

  1. Download Theme zip,
  2. Go to Appearance >Themes,
  3. In Install Theme tab, choose “Upload”,
  4. Then find theme-name.zip file on your computer and press Install Now,
  5. Go to Appearance -> Themes panel, locate the theme and click Activate button to activate the theme.

Install plugins:

  • Kirki Tollkit – Theme options toolkit, required for theme options
  • KingComposer – Free Page Builder
  • KC Pro! – PRO extension for KingComposer – prepacked with the theme (not included in the trial version)

Install via FTP

  1. Unzip the downloaded file,
  2. Upload theme folder into Themes folder in your WordPress installation (/wp-content/themes) via FTP,
  3. Go to Appearance >Themes, find theme and activate it,

Install plugins:

  • Kirki Tollkit – Theme options toolkit, required for theme options
  • KingComposer – Free Page Builder
  • KC Pro! – PRO extension for KingComposer – prepacked with the theme (not included in the trial version)

1.2.Migrating From Another Theme #

If you are migration from a theme which used the native featured images functionality of WordPress. Please use the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin to resize all the thumbnails. Click the link above and download the free plugin, and read through the steps it contains, it has all the information you need.

1.3.How to update the theme #

Before doing this, you should backup your WordPress Theme and database.

Download the free version from the product page. If you are updating paid version, you can find the latest version in your account (you have created during the order): https://themes4wp.com/my-account/

Via WP Admin

  1. On your WP Admin, go to: Appearance -> Themes. Firstly, You need to deactivate the theme you want to update (activate some other theme – default theme – this will deactivate the theme).
  2. Delete the theme you want to update.
  3. Install the theme: Appearance -> Themes -> Add New -> Upload Theme, select “Upload”. Choose the theme ZIP file and click Install Now.
  4. Activate the theme.
  5. You are done.

Via FTP

  1. Extract the theme on your local hard drive.
  2. Connect to your FTP
  3. Upload the extracted theme to: wp-content/themes/. Just replace existing files and folders.
  4. You are done.

1.4.How to upgrade to Premium version #

The process is the same as when you update the theme. Replace the trial version with the paid version.

Before doing this, you should backup your WordPress Theme and database.

Via WP Admin

  1. On your WP Admin, go to: Appearance -> Themes. Firstly, You need to deactivate the trial theme (activate some other theme – default theme – this will deactivate the theme).

1.7.Theme images #

Images 600x600px are used in (cropped width and height*):

  • Blog grid layout (homepage and archive pages)

Images 2000px width are used in (cropped width*):

  • Page and post featured image

Iamges 1170x400px are used in (cropped width and height*):

  • Blog FullWidth layout (archive pages)

*Images will be cropped to the specified dimensions using center positions

Recommended width of images for slider is 1920px

WooCommerce images dimensions are defined in WooCommerce options (WP Dashboard -> WooCommerce -> Settings -> Products -> Display tab you’ll see three image dimension inputs.).

2.Homepage Setup #

In case you want to configure your site like the theme demo, you’ll need to create a static front page first.

Via Customizer

  1. Go to Customizer – Static Front Page
  2. Set “Front page displays” as “A static page
  3. Set the “Front page” or hit “Add New Page” to create new page for homepage
  4. Set the “Posts page” or hit “Add New Page” to create new page for blog feed
  5. Save and publish
  6. Leave the customizer and hit “Edit page” to edit this page
  7. Set the “Page template” in the right sidebar under “Page Attributes” as “Homepage” – this will display your homepage as fullwidth page, without title, sidebars….
  8. Save the page
  9. Use Page Builder or put your own content

 

Via WP Dashboard

  1. Create your new page and give it a name, e.g : Home.  (set the page template “Homepage”!)
  2. Go to Settings -> Reading and change your front page to the Home page you recent created above.

If you want, you can create an additional page that displays your posts in chronological order like on a classic blog/archive. To achieve this, please navigate again to “Pages” in your WordPress dashboard, create a new page and name it “Blog”, “Archive” or whatever you want, publish the new page and then navigate to “Settings => Reading” in your WordPress dashboard to set this page as your “Posts page”

2.1.Page Builder - Install #

Theme includes KingComposer Page Builder support.

Install and activate the free plugin and the PRO addon (not included in trial version):

2.2.How To Use Page Builder #

  1. Create new page – Pages – Add New
  2. Set the page template “Homepage
  3. Hit the “Edit with KingComposer” button or “Live Editor with KC PRO!” (KC PRO is not included in trial version)

 

Now you can create your content with the page builder.

Hit the Elements button (1.) to add some element directly or put the row/columns (2.) in the content and add the element (3.)

2.3.How To Import Our Demos #

On the elements line under the content find the blue button. Hit the button to open templates library.

On the new popup select the content type “Prebuild Templates (1)” (1.) and select package “Business WP Templates” (2.). By clicking on the image (3.) it will import our demo content into your page.

 

You can find the demo contents on our demo website – http://business-wp.themes4wp.com.

The images are not included in the import.

2.4.How to enable 7 day trial KC Pro in Business WP Trial #

Business WP Trial is only for test purposes. This version does not include KingComposer PRO addon – the front-end live page builder. However you can try the KC PRO for 7 days.

  • Go to WP Dashboard – King Composer – General Settings
  • Hit KC Pro! tab
  • Hit button “Install KC Pro! Automatically

4.Global Settings #

Business WP is a dynamic multi-purpose theme. Sidebars, logo, background, colors, typography, layouts are all found in the Customizer (Appearance -> Customize)

4.1.Homepage Slider #

Go to Customizer – Homepage Settings – Slider Settings enable and setup the slider. The slider is visible only on homepages.

The slider displays pages content, like featured thumbnail, title and excerpt. Be sure that all selected pages has defined featured image (recommended width is 1920px and height based on the slider option)


To add new slide, hit button “Add new Slide“. Slider displays selected page content and featured image. Be sure that the selected page contains featured image (recommended width is 1920px and height based on the slider option)

  1. Select page that will be displayed in the slide. Slider displays page featured image, title, excerpt and link (if you dont have any page, create the pages first)
  2. Set the button text (if not, no button will be displayed)
  3. Set the caption position – left/right/center
  4. Hit again button “Add new Slide” to add new slide

4.3.Header Image/Video #

You can set homepage image or video (introduced in WP v4.7.0). Go to Customizer – Header media. By default is the header image defined.

 

   WordPress 4.7.x or above is required for this feature!   

 

The image or video is displayed only on homepage. Follow the instructions in customizer.

If you wand hide this section, hit the “Hide image” button and/or delete the URL in Video URL field.

You can also define the image/video overlay.

4.4.Background #

You can set the website background – image and/or color. To setup the background image or color go to Customizer – Colors and Typography, select the image and set the image position (Preset).

4.7.Social Icons #

You can enable social icons located in the top header.

Go to Customizer – Social Icons and enable the social icons.

Hit button “Add new icon” select the icon and set your icon URL.

By drag and drop you can re-order the icon position.

4.8.Colors and Typography #

You can define almost every color on the template. Go to Customizer – Colors and Typography.

Find the section you want edit and setup the colors and typography.

4.9.Posts and archives #

You can define the posts arechive layout.

To edit post settings go to Customizer – Post Settings

You can define the archive post layout (FullWidth, Grid, Inline or Images). If you set the Grid or Images layout, you can define items per row.

You can also define the post layout with (fullwidth featured image or boxed image).
